Agriculture Extension Program

The Georges N. Frem Foundation’s team of highly experienced agriculture engineers has been providing agriculture extension trainings to farmers, cold storage facility operators and other fruit handlers of deciduous fruits since 1999. The goal of the agriculture extension program is to improve efficiencies in the fruit production supply chain and to increase quality and safety of fruit to increase demand of Lebanese fruit in local and regional markets.

The program is focused on achieving the adoption of international practices of Integrated Crop Management (ICM) among farmers and other agricultural producers across Lebanon.

Extension services include:
1. Seminars & workshops on pre-harvest and post-harvest techniques.
2. Field demonstrations to offer hands on training.
3. Individual field visits.
4. Up to date technical and marketing information distributed through SMS, newsletter and hotline.
The Program has been benefitting agriculture producers since 1999 and continues each year to contribute towards the goal of improving and modernizing Lebanon’s agriculture sector.
