In 2002, Georges N. Frem Foundation began the Rural Transport Program providing free of charge bus transportation multiple times per day from various villages of Mount Lebanon to public technical schools and Lebanese University branches in Greater Beirut area.
The program enables students to attend quality educational institutions in Greater Beirut while residing and working in their local communities rather than having to migrate to the city. Approximately 600 students are provided transportation from their rural villages to institutes of higher learning each year as a result of the program.
The Rural Transport program currently provides pick-up and drop off to Lebanon University and Dekwaneh Technical Institute at the below locations.
The 2011-2012 program begins on November 21, 2011.
